Debbie Johnson, CAE, IOM - President & CEO 602-604-0729 x107
Debbie joined AzLTA in February 2003. Prior to that she served as Director of Valley Hotel & Resort Association since 1995 and now represents both organizations, as well as the Arizona Tourism Alliance and the Southern Arizona Lodging & Resort Association. In her role as President & CEO, Debbie oversees all administrative, legislative, marketing, and membership issues at AzLTA.
Debbie serves on several industry boards and committees, including: American Hotel & Lodging Association, Arizona Governor’s Tourism Advisory Council, Arizona Film & Television Commission and Phoenix Tourism & Hospitality Advisory Board.
Moving to Arizona from Wyoming in 1987, Debbie obtained a degree in Marketing from Arizona State University. She is married with three children and resides in North Phoenix.
David F. Nance, IOM, CMHS, CTA - Vice President of Membership 602-604-0729 x105
David joined the AzLTA team on October 1st, 2004. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Tourism Management and an Associates Degree in Business from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
David brings with him over 15 years of hospitality experience and has held numerous hotel based positions ranging from Front Office Manager, Revenue Manager, Director of Sales and General Manager with Servico and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. He received his Master Hotel Supplier recognition by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and General Manager & Front Office Manager Certification from InterContinental Hotel Group. David received his Institute of Organizational Management recognition through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in January 2011.
David gives back to both the Tourism Industry and his community. He serve on the International Society of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE) Board of Directors, the American Hotel & Lodging Association Sales & Marketing Committee and the AH&LA Council of Inns & Suites. David is also the President of the Rancho Ventura Neighborhood Association as well as a Commissioner for the City of Phoenix Citizens Transit Commission and City of Phoenix Camelback East Village Planning Commission.
Kristen Jarnagin - Vice President of Communications 602-604-0729 x106
Kristen Jarnagin has spent more than a decade honing her expertise in Travel & Tourism PR. She has worked in every facet from agency, to Director of Media Relations at the Arizona Office of Tourism, to Director of PR for a luxury resort and Five Star restaurant, to her current role as VP of Communications at the Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association.
Her career in tourism has encompassed the Industry’s most dramatic highs and lows. She represented the state tourism office during 9-11 and Arizona’s largest wildfire, helped to develop the first Five Diamond restaurant and hosted Superbowl Champions, NY Giants, while working on property and, most recently, guided the hotel association through the “AIG-Effect” and boycotts related to immigration.
Kristen is a Past Chair the Public Relations Society of America Travel & Tourism Section and also Co-Chaired the PRSA Section Council. She is a member of “The Giving Girls” and believes strongly in work/life/family balance, as well as giving back to her community.
Kristen lives in Scottsdale with her husband, two daughters and Chihuahua. She’s a proud Alumnus of Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and when she’s not rooting for the Sun Devils, she enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.
Becky Antioco – Communications & Events Manager 602-604-0729 x102
Becky joined AzLTA in July 2011 as the Communications and Events Manager. Prior to joining AzLTA, she spent nearly 15 years at AAA Arizona, where she was editor in chief of Highroads magazine, promoting local tourism and travel. Her responsibilities also included managing AAA’s Creative Services department, overseeing the production and execution of the AAA’s brand messaging, and helping to plan club events. Her passion for travel and writing has taken her across the country, around the world and extensively throughout Arizona.
A native of Connecticut, Becky moved to Arizona in 1996 after graduating from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas with a degree in communications. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and two children.
Zoe Neary - Business Manager 602-604-0729 x103
Zoe Neary joined the AzLTA team in 2010 with more than 10 years of hospitality experience. Most recently she held the position to Executive Assistant to the General Manager of the famed Arizona Biltmore. Prior to that she was employed at the Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawaii.
In addition to overseeing office and commercial building management, Zoe is responsible for the accounting of three different organizations, human resources and contract RFP's.
Zoe is a East Valley resident and the proud mom of her daughter, who is a recent graduate of Arizona State University.
Ashley Bolinger - Executive Administrator 602-604-0729
Ashley joined the AzHLA in January 2009. She graduated in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation and Tourism Management from Arizona State University. Ashley’s responsibilities include assisting the staff with marketing, events, business and membership aspects, while performing general office duties.
Ashley is a native of Arizona and has been involved in Arizona tourism for the past five years. She is excited to see where the industry and AzHLA will take her.
Alena Hicks – Marketing and Events Coordinator 602-604-0729
Alena joined AzLTA in June, 2011. She graduated in December, 2008 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design Management. She is the Board of Directors liaison, responsible for general financials as well as planning AzLTA’s annual Unity Dinner and Governor's Conference on Tourism. She is excited to be part of the tourism industry and looks forward to bringing her design background as well as past office experiences to her position here at AzLTA.
Alena is a Phoenix native and is glad to be back in the Phoenix area, with a recent move from Tucson. She now lives in town with her husband and Boxer puppy.
