New Law for Restaurants - Firearms
The State Legislature passed a new law to allow firearms into restaurants as long as the person carrying the weapon cannot be served liquor. Restaurants can post signs around the premise to restrict firearms unless peace officer personnel. There are specific stipulations to the size and image on the sign in the law. The information below will be helpful in preparing you for the September 29, 2009 date when the law goes into effect. Your best resource during this transition is the Arizona Department of Liquor. A.R.S. § 4-229(A)1 becomes law on September 29, 2009. If you elect to post a "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED" sign on your licensed premises, please print the full-color version of the DLLC-approved sign (en Español) on 8-1/2 x 11 white 110 pound index paper which, when posted, must be laminated. For answers to questions about this new law see Frequently Asked Questions.
